What was the vision and the goal - to make India’s largest Education platform by empowering Great Educators and making it accessible to everyone.
What was the metric that we use to measure our impact? Lesson views every month.
Almost an year back it 4M per month, right now it’s around 35M per month across our own platform and other platforms. These are the views of the free lessons!
The main vision is to grow the Unacademy platform which has free lessons and great Educators.
How do we do that?
- By attracting and retaining Top Educators to the Unacademy platform across various categories
- By consistently making the Unacademy platform better in terms of product and technology
Do you know that we pay close to 95 Lakhs a month to sustain the free platform and these are just technology and engineering costs.
Our Top Educators had become inconsistent and yes impact is important but they have to also get their bread and butter for efforts.
Unacademy Plus helps us get revenue which in turn helps build a Silicon Valley level product and helps us attract and retain the Best Educators in the country and eventually the world, which in turn helps grow the free platform.
Do you know that it’s mandatory for Plus Educators to create free lessons?
Can’t we create the best Education platform and become the largest Education company in India?
Students are joining Unacademy Plus for the experience, for the discipline, for the interactions with others in the classes. And it’s completely optional.
Isn’t it better to run as a for profit company but create social impact than to have a non profit and keep asking for donations?
A for profit company is faster, more efficient and more aggressive. We add more than 2000 free lessons to the Unacademy platform EVERY DAY.
Unacademy Plus is definitely affecting the Unacademy Platform. But not for the worse, for the better :)
By the end of the year there will be more than 5000 Teachers active on Unacademy every month.
